Covid-19 Stage 3 Restrictions What It Means At The Dentist

At the start of business on Friday March 27th 2020, the Government implemented Stage 3 Restrictions within the dental industry.

These restrictions have been put in place to reduce the transmission risks of COVID-19.

Thankfully, our workplace, like many other dental and medical Practices, maintains a strict Infection Control Policy. This is complemented by our equally rigid cleaning and maintenance schedule throughout the Practice to ensure we operate in a hygienic environment.

Due to the enforcement of the Stage 3 Restrictions, we are only able to provide emergency treatment.

Emergency treatment will include:

  • Significant dental pain (usually affecting your sleep)
  • Localised Infections and Swelling
  • Broken teeth
  • Any dental trauma
  • Uncontrolled Bleeding
  • Facial Swelling
  • Necessary treatment for medically compromised people
  • Or because you require surgery and something has to be corrected dentally before your operation

We are scheduling to return to normal practice from June onwards. Realistically Covid-19 may stretch out longer and if this is the case, we will call for a chat and to reschedule. I’m sure by then we’ll all be up for a chat!

So, despite the closures which are bound to continue within the community, our Practice will remain open to help you through any emergencies, our phones will be working and you are welcome to call us to make or change appointments as you feel comfortable.
